About Me
My name is Lily and I am what many people refer to as ABC: America-born Chinese, which means I was born in America, but I'm Chinese. If you look at me, you'd automatically see that I'm Chinese. I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, tanned skin (I don't think I was pale for a second of my life), and I'm short. Lately, though, I've been growing closer to "average". One of my most unique features is that I have a mole/beauty mark/freckle between my eyes. It's about a millimeter closer to my left eye, but no one ever noticed until I was about ten.
Ever since my birth on January 22, 1996, I've been full of life and energy. The most common words my friends use to describe me are hyper, silly, and unexplainable. Many people tease my by calling me "Silly Lily" or "Lily Billy Willy", but I don't mind. In fact, there are only three nicknames I dislike, all of which were given to me in middle school.
I have always been intelligent, but I hate it when my parents brag about it. That's why I'm only going to go lightly on the matter: In third grade, I applied for this gifted and talented (abbreviated as GT) program and made it. So for fourth and fifth grade, I went to a different school. By the time middle school rolled around, I applied for the local magnet program (basically the same thing as GT) and got in. So here I am — a sixth-grader in a magnet school. There are two programs: Math/Science and Humanities. I was accepted into both programs, but chose to go to Math/Science where the focus is math, science, and computer science.
I love to talk. I have always loved talking, and I always will. You know about that guy who was paid a million dollars for not talking for a year? Well, I couldn't do that if I wanted to (which I don't). I mean, talking is so fun! I could be alone for a year and be happy talking to myself. I also talk very fast. I don't think I talk fast, but my dad does. However, everyone close to me never has to ask me to repeat myself because they're so used to my talkative self. I talk any time, all the time. I've even mastered the art of talking while I'm eating without food spilling out of my mouth and looking like a pig.
Everyone I know says I have a good sense of humor. I don't even realize I'm saying anything funny until the people I'm talking to crack up — then I look around and ask "What? What did I say?" In fact, I'm not sure if I can be funny at will. When ever I try to say something amusing, it just sounds dumb.
I'm anything but patient. As you'll remember, I am very hyper. Now, you can't expect an energetic person to sit down for hours on end doing something they don't like to do, can you? But I am patient when it comes to puzzles, books, and babies.
I'm also considered outgoing many of my friends. I don't mind standing out of a crowd. I'm also not afraid to speak my mind or talk to people I hardly know. If you never talk to new people, how are you supposed to meet new people? I also don't mind people thinking I'm weird. If I'm not weird, then I'm normal. And there's no such thing as normal. In fact, I think my weirdness has made me sort-of popular. Once in fifth grade, this girl I've never spoken to walked up to me and said "You're Lily, right?"
I'm not all energy and excitement, though. I'm also very sensitive. My sensitivity lead me to become vegetarian in the beginning of 2006, and I've never regretted my choice. I'm also well known from my temper. People do not want to make me mad. An angry Lily is not a happy Lily.
