MSI’s New Steam Deck Rival Has Leaked

Just one day after MSI teased a reveal, the company’s new gaming handheld has leaked.

As spotted by Videocardz.com, the handheld is called MSI Claw, and looks rather comparable to others on the market, namely the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally.

Pictures of the handheld first appeared on X, and now it seems some of the specs of the device have leaked as well.

The Claw is powered by an Intel Meteor Lake processor, using the Core Ultra 7 155H SKU, a high-spec processor with a total of 16 cores and 22 threads. Intel, traditionally, hasn’t had the best track record with GPU drivers, so being involved with the MSI Claw might be pushing the company to improve. By comparison, both Lenovo and ASUS use the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor in their gaming handhelds.

Here’s an overview of some of MSI Claw’s specs, according to Videocardz.com.

  • Model – Micro-Star International Co., Ltd Claw A1M

Apart from these specs, however, we don’t currently have info on the Claw’s screen size, resolution, total size, or if it included an OLED screen. Of course, we also don’t have any info on pricing or release window. However, it seems more than likely that all that info will be shared at CES in Las Vegas, which is just around the corner and takes place January 9-12. That may be where MSI was planning the full reveal anyway.
