Intel Unveils High-Level HX Series Mobile Processors


CES 2024 is well underway, and at the Consumer Electronics Show, Intel has officially unveiled their new HX series of processors for consumers to take the next step in computing solutions.

Today at CES, Intel introduced its full Intel Core 14th Gen mobile and desktop processor lineup, including new HX-series mobile processors and 65-watt and 35-watt desktop processors intended for mainstream use. The new HX-series mobile processors tout a 5.8 GHz turbo frequency delivering up to 37% faster multi-thread performance over the previous 13th Gen, a notable improvement.

Vice President and General Manager of Enthusiast PC and Workstation Segment at Intel Corporation, Roger Chandler, explained that “Our Intel Core 14th Gen processor family is built to bring top-notch performance and platform features to enthusiast and mainstream PC users alike,” with “Enthusiasts on-the-go can now enjoy the best mobile experience available today with our HX-series processors. And mainstream desktop users can now experience the efficient performance and robust platform features available in our latest-gen 65-watt and 35-watt desktop processors,” according to Intel, regarding the 14th Generation of processors revealed at CES 2024.

  • Up to 5.8 GHz turbo frequency delivering up to 17% better gaming performance and up to 51% faster multitasking performance versus competition.
  • Up to 24 cores (eight P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads in the i9-14900HX processors.
  • 50% more E-cores in the i7-14700HX processors for a total of 20 cores and 28 threads, for a leap in creator performance.
  • Support for up to 192 gigabytes (GB) of total DDR5-5600 MT/S memory.
  • Overclocking capabilities on HX series processors include Intel Extreme Utility (XTU) and Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) support.
  • New Intel Application Optimization (APO) support is included on the HX series of mobile processors, with six new gaming titles (eight total) supported.
  • Revealed at CES 2024, Intel’s Thunderbolt 5 capabilities deliver 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth, and bandwidth boost providing up to 120 Gbps for the best display and data experiences – in addition to Thunderbolt 4 already delivering bandwidth of 40 Gbps for PC connectivity to 4K monitors and accessories.
  • Leading wireless features, including integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and the new discrete Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) for multi-gigabit speeds are available.
  • The latest in Bluetooth connectivity with support for both Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The new Intel HX series of mobile processors are also compatible with a myriad of laptop brands to provide the most power to consumer PCs as possible. As revealed at CES 2024, brands like ASUS, Alienware, Razer, MSI, and much more.
