Following the long WGA SAG AFTRA strikes, Marvel has been hard at work on their TV series’ and MCU films, but regarding a She-Hulk season two, lead actress Tatiana Maslany has some disappointing news for fans.
The upcoming slate of original Disney+ Marvel programming has hit a few hiccups since the end of the Hollywood strikes. From the ongoing problems that have remained for the Mahershala Ali-helmed Marvel’s Blade and Daredevil: Born Again being reworked, Marvel has seen cloudy weather recently. Tatiana Maslany, the star of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has just revealed some worries for fans of the green hero-laden series.
Marvel is the king of leaving its fans on cliffhangers (especially with after-credits scenes), and She-Hulk not only made remarks that implied a season two, but it also ended openly. In a livestream of Codenames LIVE! – The New Class, Maslany gave a non-official update on the future of She-Hulk and it doesn’t look good for fans. Host Tim Riel asks, “Should we hope for a Season Two?” to which Maslany replies, “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.’”
While the future for She-Hulk seems daunting, Maslany doesn’t press the issue, only referring to the potential for a second season as something she doesn’t believe in, as opposed to something that’s definitely not going to happen. The MCU does, however, seem to have future problems, as Phase 5 of the MCU was supposed to be based on Kang the Conqueror, and now Jonathan Majors has been removed from the role due to his conviction for assault and harassment in December.
While we haven’t received any official word on She-Hulk, the future looks bleak for the courtroom hero. In the absence of an official announcement, fans should take this report with a grain of salt until a formal announcement is made.
